Innocent victims

On Wednesday, just as Fermín returned home from work (he works as a teacher) a galga suffering from an open wound had been brought in to Medina from Zamora. She was rescued from the motorway after having caused an accident. As yet, we  still don't know what happened to those involved, but we hope no one was hurt. Abandonment not only endangers the life of an innocent dog but also that of innocent people. We wonder if the perpetrator of this despicable action realizes this... Probably not; an action like this shows a complete disregard for life.

Without delay, Fermín put her in his car and headed to our friend's clinic in Madrid which is 2 hours away. There, she was examined and x-rayed, and endured it all with supernatural patience (it was almost as if she knew they were all there to help her). Besides her leg, where the double fracture was pretty obvious, the x-rays also showed “something” on her chest which has not yet been diagnosed.
We devoutly hope she has no internal injuries but we will keep updating on her status. If her condition remains stable, her surgery will take place tomorrow.

We have named this little galga Ratoncita (Spanish for little mouse) and she is barely a year old.

Please help us keep up the work we do for dogs like Ratoncita and the countless others that come our way by one of the following options!
