Seven of seven

Kennel number 7 has become the home of seven precious animals with „a bad leg“ They all arrived at Scooby with some sort of fracture and while some of them have already been operated on, the others are waiting their turn. These kind of surgeries are costing us a lot, especially with so many animals in such a short period. Our only wish is to operate them as soon as possible so they can recuperate quickly and find themselves a home, which is not an easy task. In our refuge we have a large quantity of animals, many of them with their own type of  illness and the consequent special treatment needed. You can imagine the work involved of getting them all ahead and although we at Scooby will always find the strength needed to do so, we need something very special to continue this way: YOU.  Only with your help we can keep on paying for the veterinary bills and return the dignity to our animals that one day had been taken from them.

Poldi gave us a scare again

Our naughty Poldi gave us another scare. Sunday afternoon we had to call the vet on call to come and take a look at our filly. We don’t know what he was doing, nor how it could happen but he has hurt his leg again,  and this time it was not the hoof but he managed to tear off a large piece of skin from his foot. From now on we hope he will think twice before doing funny things walking around because he will need care for a long time with ointments, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and painkillers.  We sound very “happy” telling you this but the scare has been pretty big and it could have been worse.   As usual we are going to need your help because lately the veterinary costs are increasing and it is becoming impossible to cover all the costs for treatments. Will you help Poldi?

 

It breaks my heart

We have gone again to Merida and Jerez to pick up dogs , some of them from the perrera of Gesser and some from different galgueros until here everything is correct , all was ok until I knew that at least four galgos from the galgueros were not coming , because the galgueros could not wait and they have killed them, bloody galgueros, I really cannot understand it, we are trying our best, the shelter is full and we still need to rescue more and more because if not they will kill them, we need you to take dogs from us , we simply don´t have space and we need free spaces there are still galgos waiting for us in Murcia, Jaen, Sevilla and Málaga, I have been speaking with Maria and she has told me the same, at least two or three of them have been already killed and it really breaks my heart , please share widely we need to make space in our shelter for being able to rescue more. Thanks , I am sure that you will do your best, we need homes, money for food and medicines. We introduce - Mini-Mini

Waiting for the final result from our vet, I want to introduce you to our little tiny grandfather, he was found abandoned in Matapozuelos, he must be very old, because he only has two teeth , our vets are checking because also the jaw is broken and he need to be castrated, because believe in one night he was able to mark at least twenty times in my house, I can understand it , in my house there are so many new experience for a brave stallion like him. It is a real estrange case because he is chipped, when we trace the owner he is a breeder from Aranjuez and supposedly he gave the dog to someone here in Medina del Campo, we guess that he has not gone to the vet to be vaccinated so we need to start all the protocol , so this poor little creature has been used for breeding without caring for his health and when the breeder didn´t want him anymore he finished abandoned in the street. Kisses, licks and lots of love from all our dogs, galgos, podencos, cats and of course our farm animals and don´t forget to donate today without your help we cannot continue with this work. Fermin
