Why?

I am going to tell you a story about animals, one of those stories that can only happen in my country. This story started a year ago, I saw an ítem in the newspaper about some abandoned horses in a village, so immediately I tried to get information on what was happening with these horses, I called the Guardia Civil and they did not want to give me information, and directed me to the goverment of Castilla y Leon, so I did. I got in touch with the local governement and asked around, and I was told that everything was under control, that the animals were in good hands.  Even with this information I told them they could count on us if they needed to and if something happened..  Of course they did not tell me anything and we never heard anything about the horses. Until this year, where an article appeared in the newspaper about some horses in a sorry state in Penafiel, some of them dead. Seprona got in touch with us because they had passed it by the court for animal negligence and apparantly we are the only ones that can legally take them up in the province of Valladolid. So we went to pick them up, a total of 7 in very poor condition, skinny with skin problems, and oh what a surprise, these are the same ones that a year before were left behind and I just ask myself, would it not have been easier to have picked up the animals before, instead of waiting untill their condition deteriorated like it has now?  Anyway, those that are here, are here and need a lot of treatment, we have deparasited them internally and externally, they have been visited by the vet to be treated and identified and now we need you to help us continue our rescues.. please donate today. We present you: Nieves

We called her that because of her black coat, she is a podenco that they use in “rehalas” combined herds. We picked her up in Marinada and they did not know how she had lost her foot. I don’t think that is true, they use these poor animals to hunt wild boars and I am sure that in one of the encounters with the wild boars she has hurt her foot and nobody did anything to heal it untill she simply lost it. She is very good and is looking for somebody to adopt her, we are going to try and find a prosthesis for her and we are going to need you help. Please donate today. COFEE AND HER BABIES

 Coffee was left while  she was giving birth, by  a woman who was

    driving a black car. A neighbor saw everything, and just in the

    moment that this woman started the car and went away, she began

    hearing screams of pain. When this neighbor approached the area

    where they where, she saw Coffee, with one baby dead, and 6 more

    babies fighting to live.

 Coffee was scared, she did not understand anything, she was not

    understanding how its family had left her there, she was not

    understanding why her owner had started the car and had gone

    away, leaving her there with this terrible pain. She was so scared,

    for that reason she tried to bite everybody who walked close to her.

    Everybody went there to see the poor dog with the new-born puppies.

    But nobody helped her.

Police called us and we went to look for her. Everybody told us that

    we should not approach her, because she could bite us.

    When we came to her, we stopped next to her, and we saw this poor dog,

    with the pups around her, with one of them dead, disoriented, and

    crying.We stretched out our hand, and she came to our lap, sat down next to us and we  could take all the pups. 

   

    She knew that we were going to help her, and she waited for us beside

    our car. She didn t know where she was going, but she knew it couldn t

    be worse that the place where they had left her. Coffee trusted in

    us, and we are going to do all the possible to save Coffee and her

    babies. They are very weak and we need help to help them.
