Gala is the last
female galgo we picked up from the doghouse, they intented to hang her but she
must have been able to get away from that terrible fate, and somebody found her
and brought her to the doghouse where we went to pick her up, she has just
given birth so the most probable thing is that they have killed the pups and
then they tried to hang her. I won’t
tell you all there is to it, because if I did I would end up with one bad word
after another. Greetings, sad greetings, Fermin

We need your help 2
Winter has
come and our horses are outside, so we made them some shelters and we put some
coats on them. The coats were free but the shelters costed us a lot but it was
clear we could not leave them out in the open.
And if that
is not enough, we have a load of puppies and kittens that are certainly
adorable, these little podenco and galgo mixes, and they need a house now, they
really need a home now, these stories about this little black puppy that came
in undernourished and with decalcified legs, and our little kittens with the
enormous pupils, the expenses with the puppies are enormous, if they don’t have parvo they have something like
calicivirus or rhinotracheitus, some of the smaller galgomixes had parvo, well
several have had parvo but these two were in a very serious state and luckily
have managed to get ahead, and of course it is obvious that when they are not
feeling well we need to put the heater on and our electric bill has
skyrocketed, so as you can see our bills are huge and therefore we need your
help to pay them. Kisses, hugs, bites and loving licks, Fermin

We need your help
Lately we have been faced with a large quantity of
enormous expenses, broken legs have become too regular so that every time we
need to have them operated on, here comes Ivan, who is an excellent vet but
every time he needs to come it is costing us a lot of money. Scooby as you know
doesn´t not wait until we have the money together and then operate, but we have
it done and later I will ask you for the money to pay for the operation. I am going to present you with a few cases;
Ofelia, the female galgo that was brought to Cobie by
a gipsy because she broke her leg running. Result: an operation to set the leg,
now she is fine.
Michael the mix: car accident, as a result the leg and
hip broken, required operation and now is doing fine.
Aaron the Braco: Broken leg with several bone
fragments, a very difficult operation but currently doing well, as you can see
these operations are very expensive.
Even though Ivan is giving us a good price, these are
expensive operations no matter what.
Kisses, hugs, bites and loving licks, Fermin

A lucky donkey
You have
heard it in other stories, the typical phonecall about an animal in need of
help, and there we go, this is one of the things I like about Scooby; where
there is an animal in need, there we are going without caring about the
distance or how much it is going to cost us.
When we
went to see her, the owner told us boldly that he was waiting for her to die of
thirst or hunger, that due to the crisis raising donkeys wasn’t profitable
anymore without any subsidies so I am afraid we will be picking them up more
and more. The certain thing was that the bas**rd of an owner had her tied up
next to the food but he made sure the leash was short enough so she would not
be able to reach it.
The good
thing is that the vet has seen her today and within limits she is fine and only
needs food and somebody to take care of her wounds, and above all she has a big
appetite so we think and hope she will be doing fine soon. A sad bray with all
my love for this poor thing that has to suffer because of humans. Fermin.

Day number 1 for our new fosterlings from Merida...
...of their
new life.
As you can
see there´s a lot of work and expenses lying ahead us but we are so happy to
have them here in safety and now we are looking forward to the challenge to
change their shape and also to conjure the spark of life back in their sad
eyes. What they seem to be longing for most, next the food of course, is
warmth. Although they are all wearing at least one coat, they spend every
possible minute in the sun as if they need to charge their solar cell. For this
reason we would love to fill our empty gas-tank, so we can turn on the heating
above their baskets during the cold nights. That´s another 1500 Euro for which
we are asking your help.
But we
don´t just want to ask for money but also send out a profound thank you to all of you who already donated
for these dogs. You are fantastic people and we are so happy we can count on
our friends when we need them.
FermÃn
We will
keep you posted about the progress of the dogs and for now, have a look at
their first day:
